The VAFA is pleased to announce the appointment of Glen Towers as its new General Manager – Commercial & Media.
Following an extensive process, the VAFA are certain Glen will add great value to the VAFA commercially at both Association and Club level and will extend the Commercial and Media team to new heights in the coming years.
Glen is an experienced and knowledgeable commercial operator in the sporting sector. In his current role, he is the General Manager Commercial Operations at Basketball Australia. Prior to this he has worked at Melbourne Storm, Cricket Australia, the AFL and licensing and sporting agencies.
Glen has a very wide breadth of commercial and sponsorship experience to draw from. Within sport he has knowledge of sponsorship retention and acquisition, operations, events, media, digital, governance with Boards and sub-committees and more, and so understands the landscape very well.
Glen has worked across both large and small organisations and so has a blend of excellent strategic experience mixed with a hands-on tactical approach.
Glen has a passion for sport which enables him to fully engage in his role. He understands the VAFA well.
VAFA CEO Brett Connell said “we are excited to welcome Glen to the Administration Team. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge across a number of sports and has a proven track record in driving key strategic outcomes and in particular understands community sport and the VAFA”.
Glen will begin his role with the VAFA on Monday March 28.
