
From formation to A-Grade: Old Geelong Women’s makes history
Old Geelong Football Club opened its 2025 season in historic fashion, with its women’s side marking their first year in the William Buck Premier competition with two wins straight out
The VAFA would like to advise of the following changes to the VAFA Board effective immediately.
Board Member Dean Matthews (Football, Growth & Intergrity SC Chair) tendered his resignation on Monday April 4, 2022 prior to the Board Meeting.
The VAFA takes this opportunity to thank Dean for his dedication, passion and drive during his time on the Board and for his leadership, support and guidance in relation to the sub-committee in which he chaired.
The Board also made (2) appointments at last night’s Board Meeting.
Former Bayside City Council Mayor Felicity Frederico joins the Board filling (1) of the casual vacancies that exist. Felicity was a former VAFA Board Appointed Member from 2017-2020 (inclusive).
The Board also filled one of the Board Appointed positions with Phil Stevens. Phil was a former GM/CEO of the VAFA (16 years) and is a current Life Member.
President George Voyage said of the Felicity and Phil, “both will bring experience and stability to the Board and fill matrix requirements especially in Governance and Clubs/Community respectively”.
There are now (2) casual vacancies, and (1) appointed positions to be filled. The VAFA Board are in the process of sounding out potential replacements for the vacant roles and will advise further.
