The VAFA congratulates the first Men’s Rising Star nominee of 2022 – Angus Symons from Old Scotch. On debut, Angus played in the forward line and kicked a goal in Scotch’s first round win over Uni Blues.
What the club said:
Angus Symons is 18 years old, in his first year out of Scotch College (2021 graduate), playing last year in the College’s 1st XVIII.
Angus played 117 games of junior football for Glen Iris Gladiators in the Yarra Junior Football League from 2011 to 2019. He joined the Cardinals this year and has earned his spot in the Men’s 1st XVIIII for Round 1.
Angus is a dynamic small forward who impacts on the scoreboard. We believe Angus has a great future at VAFA Men’s Premier ‘A’ level and higher.
