By Joe Pignataro · April 8, 2022
VAFA Round 2 Live Coverage: 12 hours uninterrupted!

It’s a Round 2 extravaganza across your Saturday in the VAFA. With our coverage of games beginning at 9.15am, going right through until 9pm.

Rest assured you won’t miss a moment of this marathon Saturday!

MECWACARE MATCH OF THE DAY ON RSN CARNIVAL

The William Buck Premier opening round was an all-time classic between Old Scotch and University Blues that went down to the wire. If that’s a pre-cursor on what’s to come then we are in for one helluva season.

This Saturday we head out to Toorak Park where Old Xaverians will play host to Old Brighton. Our pre-season predictions have these 2 sides as the frontrunners in 2022 and we get the earliest sniff of what could be a Grand Final preview with both sides coming off convincing wins in Round 1.

The coverage begins on RSN Carnival from 12pm with a replay of the VAFA Podcast, For the Love of the Game with Brian Waldron and Tommy Flanagan before the live pre-game show “The Saturday Warm-Up” at 1pm with Joe Pignataro and Josh Heriot

Hear from both coaches in the build up to the first bounce, Old Xaverians coach James Byrne at 1.15pm and Old Brighton’s Greg Hutchison at 1.35pm before the best call of all the action.

Joe Pignataro and Liam Ellison will be calling all the action from 2pm.

To hear the coverage live and uninterrupted tune into RSN Carnival 1 on your digital radio, or download the RSN927 app and select RSN Carnival 1

VAFA-MY SPORT LIVE – LIVE STREAM MATCH OF THE DAY

VAFA football can’t stop and won’t stop in 2022. To close out a round 2 extravaganza of VAFA football the My Sport Live stream heads to Packer Park under lights for the Division 1 clash between Glen Eira and Peninsula.

Last week history was made at Peninsula with Shaun Payze in his 410th game taking to the field with his 18 year old son Bailey in his debut. While Glen Eira have announced themselves already in the opening round, coming up after an undefeated 11 games in 2021.

The coverage will begin at 6.20pm with the first bounce at 6.30pm with Josh Heriot and Mitch Dyer covering all the action under the Saturday night lights with Glen Eira President Kye Cherian the feature guest at half-time.

You can stream the action live right here on the VAFA website and on the VAFA Facebook page.

VAFA FOOTY NEVER STOPS

To complement the already stacked afternoon, you can get a morning fix of VAFA football over breakfast as there’ll be 2 games streamed live through the My Sport Live website.

From 9.20am, in what is set to be a replay of the 2021 Preliminary Final – Marcellin women take to the field for the first time this season after a round 1 bye and will face off against St Kevin’s at Marcellin College.

And after both recording first round wins in Premier C, Old Ivanhoe play host to Hampton Rovers at Chelsworth Park. Last year these sides went 1-1 in the head to head battle and played off in a thrilling draw in 2019. A game you will not want to miss.

Both of these games will be streamed live and accessible through the My Sport Live app and My Sport Live website.
