Vicki Durston
Vicki Durston is currently a member of the Executive team at Breast Cancer Network Australia as a Director of Policy, Advocacy and Member Support. Vicki is a registered nurse by profession and has 30 years’ health sector experience spanning 20 years in health leadership and management across public, private, and not for profit sectors.
Vicki is highly committed to deliver measurable results for organisations and communities through effective strategic planning, governance, policy development, financial management and key stakeholder engagement. Vicki brings a broad academic record:
Vicki is a committed, enthusiastic football administrator as a former president of St Peters Football Club coming up through the ranks of assistant secretary, and secretary as a parent volunteer. Vicki’s passion for AFL is ongoing, in areas of community engagement, working to understand member club’s needs, club sustainability, diversity and growth and implementation of female participation.
Vicki will be part of the Football Growth and Integrity SubCommittee with a newly created portfolio overseeing the Women’s competition and also be a member of the Governance SubCommittee.
Ivan Delac
Ivan Delac joins the VAFA Board after 9 years as President of the Glen Eira Football Club. Having spent the better part of a decade rebuilding the foundations of Glen Eira through a merger, implementing that club’s inaugural Women’s Team and an U/19’s pathway partnership with McKinnon Secondary College, Ivan has now turned his attention to making a positive contribution to the wider VAFA community.
Ivan brings invaluable experience as a recent VAFA Club President. His commercial acumen as a senior manager for LG Electronics is a skill set that will prove advantageous to the VAFA Board and ultimately the members. Educated at Xavier College and ACU with a Bachelor of Business, Ivan plans on commencing his Masters in Leadership at Deakin University in the near future.
Ivan’s success at Glen Eira AFC came from securing in excess of $500K in local, state and federal government grants, other fund raising and sponsorship initiatives as well as a detailed knowledge and understanding of long term strategic and succession planning. While experiencing a horrid start as President of Glen Eira in 2013, overcoming a 708 day draught between senior men’s wins: Glen Eira has now grown to 5 teams and delivered 5 club Premierships and 3 losing Grand Finals in recent years, culminating in Glen Eira winning the VAFA Club Championship in 2021.
As a member of the Divisional Advisory Group for the past 2 years, Ivan has become a prominent voice and advocate for Divisional Football, with a solid grounding of all matters of football operations and rules planning. He will sit on the Football Growth & Integrity SubCommittee and the Commercial Subcommittee in addition to input on the Elsternwick Park Infrastructure Project team.
Ivan represents the generational change the VAFA Board has been looking to achieve and will apply his skills matrix as a member of the VAFA Board.
