The VAFA congratulates Alessia Acquaro from Williamstown CYMS on being awarded the round 6 Anytime Fitness Women’s rising star nomination. In her debut year with the club, Alessia kicked a goal as well as being named in the best on Friday night as they overcame Old Trinity by 31 points.
What the club said:
‘Les’ is a damaging long kick and a strong contested mark.
Her ability and confidence to break a tackle and take the game on was a highlight of Alessia’s preseason.
We’ve encouraged this aspect of her game and it was on full show for the home crowd under lights at the Fearon Reserve, her match winning goal securing our first win of the season and an exciting performance across half forward.
