“I’m coaching Hampton, you wanna assist? Yep, let’s do it!”
Your favourite podcast is back for another week, VAFA’s For the Love of the Game!
A late-change to the line-up saw Grumpy Brian Waldron come out, and on-debut ‘Handsome Dipper’ Josh Heriot come in.
However it was Owen Lalor who stole the show taking us into how the Hampton Rovers created a dynasty with Guy Martyn leading the way to back-to-back flags in 2013 and 2014. Completed with Lalor as his assistant.
All of it starting in the corridors of the Brighton Hotel Pub. Where else would you create a Premiership dynasty!
“The night he signed me up.. I remember Guy and I, we bumped into each other out the front of the toilets.. It was done within 30 seconds, it was really quick”
Lalor also went in-depth about his current role as coach of the Parkdale Vultures which saw them end a 1,009 day losing streak in Round 7 and then snap a 1,047 day losing streak at home in Round 8. One William Buck Premier side is “going under the radar” at the moment according to Josh, while Joey has got a new Premiership favourite as we approach the halfway mark of the season.
Ask Grumpy Brian has been put on the back burner for this week, as a replacement, Heriot brings his VAFA insights to the table instead.
