From formation to A-Grade: Old Geelong Women’s makes history
Old Geelong Football Club opened its 2025 season in historic fashion, with its women’s side marking their first year in the William Buck Premier competition with two wins straight out
This weekend promises to be a VAFA football extravaganza, featuring an U19 feast on Sunday, and you will not miss a moment across our media channels!
VAFA Football goes to St Kevin’s College this weekend as the ladder leaders celebrates its proud history with a past players day. The club, now its 75th year is on the precipice of another Premiership season (If successful, their 4th flag in 7 years), while their biggest rivals Old Xaverians come to town and will be looking to knock them off their perch for the second time this season.
Richard “Titch” Callanan, St Kevin’s legend will join the Saturday Warm-Up, as will Old Xaverians coach, James Byrne ahead of the first bounce. Joe Pignataro and Mitch Dyer will keep you company from 1pm before Simon Petch joins the team for the first bounce at 2pm.
To hear the coverage live and uninterrupted, tune into RSN Carnival 1 on your digital radio, or download the RSN927 app and select RSN Carnival 1.
The VAFA Under 19 Division 1 Men’s Holmesglen Footy Festival takes centre stage on Sunday, with all 4 games streamed live through the VAFA Facebook Page and VAFA website. The action kicks off at 11.40am.
Every game has plenty on the line, this is certainly a day on the calendar not to be missed, as the next generation of stars for your senior teams are put in the spotlight and on show.
You can stream the action live right here on the VAFA website and on the VAFA Facebook page – see below for the full schedule.
There’s a top of the table clash in William Buck Premier Women’s between St Kevin’s vs. Kew to decide who will be the hot favourite leading into September. Kew reigned supreme in the clubs earlier meeting this year. Will the same happen again or can St Kevin’s arrest the tide?
In Premier B, University Blacks are the team to beat. Old Haileybury make their way out to the Uni Main. What we’ve seen from recent head-to-head match ups between these two is they go down to the wire.
Both of these games will be streamed live and accessible through the My Sport Live channel and App.
