Just because William Buck Premier and Premier B are taking a 2-week break, doesn’t mean the rest of the competition is at rest. We’re simply just firing it up further this weekend.
Hawthorn AFC for a number of years now have been a competition leading in promoting, recognising and acknowledging the roles football clubs play in raising further awareness around the health and wellbeing of its players and staff. This weekend they tackle Westbourne Grammarians in the clubs annual WINGS match.
Changing away from the traditional brown and gold, the club will don its coveted light blue strip with the Hawk wings side by side to both raise awareness around mental health and prevent further tragedy. Last year the Hawks reigned supreme on this day over Canterbury and will be out to produce the same damage to the Grammarians.
Join Mitch Dyer and Ethan Mills for all the coverage beginning from 1.55pm. You can stream the action live right here on the VAFA website and on the VAFA Facebook page.
After the success of the Holmesglen Under 19 Division 1 Men’s competition at Elsternwick Park, this weekend the VAFA is showcasing its freshest men’s section as part of its ever growing competition.
The Mecwacare Masters Footy Festival will take to Elsternwick Park on Sunday. Proving that age is merely a number and a terrific opportunity to showcase Masters Football in a standalone time slot.
The focus of the Masters format is to provide an alternative to traditional football competitions, with the VAFA offering the opportunity to play to an over 35 age group.
You can stream the action live right here on the VAFA website and on the VAFA Facebook page – see below for the full schedule.
Due to the extra team in Premier C, the competition continues to play through the bye rounds. This week sees the Parkdale Vultures facing off against Ormond. Parkdale have become the form side in Premier C having won 5 of their last 6 matches to completely turn their season around. While the Monders have become somewhat of the “team to beat” when Premier C is on show.
In William Buck Premier Women’s, Melbourne University Women’s will take to the field in a special NAIDOC week jersey released by the club on Friday. Coming up against West Brunswick, there’s a spot in the top 4 on the line with this clash one not-to-be missed.
Both of these games will be streamed live and accessible through the My Sport Live channel and App.
