Old Scotch FC have announced Senior Women’s Coach Dean Anderson will re-sign with the club. The following article was published on the clubs website.
The Old Scotch Football Club is delighted to announce Dean Anderson has been reappointed as Senior Coach of the Old Scotch Stars for 2023. Dean coached the Stars to the Women’s Premier ‘B’ section premiership in 2022, coming from 4th spot on the ladder, after jumping two sections from 2021.
Dean has outstanding relationship skills and built a great rapport with the Stars playing group very quickly in his 1st year at the helm. He was excellently supported by Dave McCleery, life member and former President, who will be his Assistant Coach again in 2023.
Dean is currently a Board member at the St. Kilda Football Club with a wide range of responsibilities, including being the Football Director, which incorporates the AFLW space. Dean was already well known at the Old Scotch Football Club and in the VAFA, having coached our Men’s’ 1st XVIII for three years, chalking up appearances in three finals series.
Speaking to Dean today he said how much he was looking forward to coaching the club in the Women’s Premier ‘A’ section in 2023. “I am delighted to be reappointed to head up the coaching of the Stars in what is an exciting women’s football program. My experience in 2022 was highly rewarding and I am looking forward to being involved again next year. The women’s coaching role is exciting for me. I have a passion for coaching, a deep connection to Old Scotch, strong insights and interest in the development of women’s football.”
We wish Dean Anderson, his coaching staff and the Old Scotch Stars all the best for 2023.
