Umpire Appointments for 2022 VAFA Grand Final Weekend
After a year of hard work and dedication, the VAFA Umpires Association is pleased to announce the umpire appointments for the 2022 William Buck Premier Men’s Grand Final, Premier B Men’s Grand Final, Holmesglen Under 19 Premier Men’s Grand Final as well as the Premier Reserves and Premier B Reserves.
It is a great reward and honor for all umpires that have been selected to officiate in the big one – the 2022 William Buck Premier Men’s Grand Final on Sunday at Elsternwick Park.
The VAFA Umpires Association (UA) has been a great support to all umpires, especially those who will be officiating on the big stage.
The UA President Benjamin McWiggan and his committee have led by example this season, ensuring great advocacy, social and support mechanisms were available to the umpiring group.
Stephen Privitera, VAFA Umpire Operations Manager spoke to VAFA Media earlier this week paying credit to everyone who has umpired in the VAFA in 2022.
“Each umpire is committed to developing their knowledge and performing on matchday, whether that be on the ground as a field umpire, running as a boundary umpire or in between the big sticks as a goal umpire,” he said.
“The sense of community and family that is displayed after each Wednesday night training is a credit to the culture that has been established in the umpiring group.”
“VAFA HQ thanks the Umpires Association for our strong working relationship and partnership to improve all aspects of the umpiring experience in this competition.”
