2026 VAFA Finals Fixture – August 22-23
The fixture has been released for the Week 1 of the 2026 VAFA Finals Series, featuring Men’s Thirds Semi Finals, as well as Premier B, Divisional and Holmesglen U19 Premier
The VAFA is looking to grow the Mecwacare Masters competition in 2023 as it seeks new teams and players to join.
VAFA Masters football is an over 35’s men’s competition and will next year begin on Sunday 16th April.
The Mecwacare Masters competition is a great way for players to stay connected with their club or reconnect with their old club and teammates.
The season consists of 10 matches to be played every second week in a Sunday timeslot, with finals to be played at Elsternwick Park.
The inaugural season of the Mecwacare Masters competition this year saw Oakleigh being crowned premiers after beating De La Salle in the Grand Final by three points. Other clubs involved in 2022 were St Kevin’s and Marcellin who fielded two teams.
This season saw enhanced coverage of the competition with three games live streamed, including the Mecwacare Masters Grand Final through News Corp’s KommunityTV.
In addition to strong media coverage and a competitive Grand Final, the VAFA also implemented the Mecwacare Masters Footy Festival, which saw all participating teams play off at Elsternwick Park.
