The Old Trinity Football Club wishes to advise all members, fans, sponsors and football universe of a change to the Men’s Senior Coach for the 2023 season.
Previously, we announced the appointment of Leo Garrick as Senior Coach for 2023, however due to personal circumstances changing, Leo has stepped away from the role. The T’s wish to thank Leo for his contribution and commitment, and wish him the best of luck for all future endeavours.
As a result, after a rigorous coaching selection process, the club are pleased to announce the appointment of Donald McDonald as our new Senior Coach for 2023 & beyond, who presented with all traits of a great Trinity person.
Donald’s son, Luke McDonald, attended the school – and is familiar of all the values our great club upholds. McDonald played 155 AFL/VFL games for North Melbourne, kicking 165 goals in his career. He then went on to captain-coach Werribee in the VFA, successfully, for almost a decade.
Donald then coached the Box Hill Hawks to premiership glory in 2001, having beat his former club Werribee in the Grand Final. More recently, he has had success at Avondale Heights rebuilding their club, and has just left the Director of Football role at Old Scotch where he provided stability and expertise for the past three seasons.
OTGAFC is very excited to see what Donald, and our men’s program, can do over the next few seasons.
