VAFA and KommunityTV Extend Partnership

By VAFA Media · April 5, 2023
VAFA and KommunityTV Extend Partnership

After an extremely successful trial during the 2022 VAFA Finals Series, the VAFA is delighted to announce a new partnership with News Corp Australia’s live streaming platform, KommunityTV, through until 2025.

KommunityTV will provide live streaming coverage for 18 William Buck Premier rounds (9 x Men’s, 9 x Women’s) during the 2023 home and away season as well as uninterrupted coverage of Senior Men’s, Senior Women’s and Holmesglen Under 19 Premier Men’s finals series, further expanding the VAFA’s live streaming coverage.

In total, KommunityTV will broadcast 48 matches exclusively, complete with commentary teams across the home and away season and final series.

News Sport Network Managing Director Michael Wilkins said Kommunity TV was delighted to have a long-term partnership with the VAFA. “Community footy is at the heart of what we do, and at the heart of the sport – it’s where stars of the future shine,” he said.

“We look forward to putting the competition on a national stage.”

As part of the new agreement, the Herald Sun will also become a print media partner of the VAFA.

Jason Reddick, CEO of the VAFA said, “Following the success of the KommunityTV streaming partnership during the VAFA finals in 2022, we are delighted to have secured a three-year deal that expands the live coverage of our William Buck Premier Men’s and Women’s match of the round for both Senior and Reserve grades through the extensive News Corp subscriber network.

“This is a great outcome for the VAFA, our Premier clubs and highly valued commercial partners as we continue to expand the reach of our competition, making it more accessible to a wider audience than ever before.”

The 2023 VAFA home and away season begins on Saturday, April 15 with the schedule of matches to be broadcast through KommunityTV to be announced in due course.
