Inside the Boundary: A fresh and vibrant welcome to 2023

By Joe Pignataro · April 12, 2023
Inside the Boundary: A fresh and vibrant welcome to 2023

The VAFA Women’s Podcast has returned in 2023 with Melbourne Uni’s Lucy Watkin and former Prahran FC star, Sophie Welsh taking you Inside the Boundary.

After a lengthy pre-season for the VAFA Women’s Competition, it all restarts again tomorrow night with reigning premiers St Kevin’s facing off against Preliminary finalists Caulfield Grammarians under the Friday night lights to open the 2023 William Buck Premier Women’s campaign.

Can St Kevin’s climb the mountain again in search of a three-peat? They’ll have to do so with new personnel on the back of significant player movement in the off-season.

Old Carey has returned to the VAFA Women’s Competition and will be competing in Division 4, and we predict which of the long-running winning streaks will end first in Division 1 Women’s with Beaumaris (18 wins) and Hampton Rovers (25 wins) competing in the same section.

The Coburg Lions are the newest team to join the VAFA Women’s Competition, Tom Chitsos is the coach, and our headline guest.

The Lions face off against Watkin’s Melbourne Uni Women’s side on Sunday. The vibe and excitement to be part of the VAFA is at fever-pitch at Piranha Park with the team keen to make an early season statement against the competitions oldest club.

Subscribe to Inside the Boundary wherever you get your podcasts to never miss an episode, new releases every Thursday morning.
