The VAFA celebrates its connection with Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) through the upcoming Themed round by asking clubs to raise funds for BCNA by hosting a Pink Sports Day.
Each day 57 Australians will be told they have breast cancer – that’s over 20,000 people in 2023. It is expected that 170 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year and many more are affected through diagnosis of a partner, mother, or friend.
Hosting a Pink Sports Day is a great way to show support and involve everyone, either on the oval or the sidelines. There are a variety of ways to raise funds for BCNA including hosting a Club Luncheon, running a club raffle, additional items for your club canteen or rattling tins for donations.
Any VAFA clubs that would like to be involved can register to host a Pink Sports Day here.
The VAFA as an association is aiming to raise more than $30,000 in 2023 after raising $28,000 in 2022. To have your clubs fundraising tally contribute to the Association tally please clicking on the following link and then clicking “Join Association”.
If your club would like any support resources to help drive your Pink Sports Day please access resources here.
