The VAFA congratulates James Hope, who has received the Anytime Fitness Rising Star nomination for Round 3. Hope was a key performer in Old Brighton’s win over Collegians, booting 5 goals, affirming his position in the forward line in the senior side in William Buck Premier Men’s.
What the club said:
Jamie Hope joined Old Brighton this season, having been a member of Brighton Grammar School’s APS Premiership side in 2022.
Hopey was one of 5 debutants in Old Brighton’s Round 1 win against Uni Blacks, where he kicked 3 goals. He followed that performance up with a 5 goal haul against Collegians on the weekend. He has slotted into senior football nicely, with great composure and skill.
Jamie is on North’s VFL list, but hopefully will be available to play a few more games for the Tonners at times throughout the season.
“Jamie has put together two great games for us to start the season. He works hard, is clean and has been polished in front of goals. We were really impressed how he stood up in the fourth quarter on Saturday when Collegians had some momentum and the game was there to be won.”
“You can tell he is really enjoying his footy, and his team mates love having him in the side.” Dan Donati, Old Brighton Coach.
