Big V footy returns to the VAFA for the first time since 2019.
On Saturday, July 15 at Elsternwick Park, the VAFA Senior Men’s side will take on the Perth Football League.
The side will be out for redemption after losing to AFL Vic Country at Ikon Park four years ago.
The Senior Men’s side will be coached by former Old Brighton coach, Greg Hutchison. With his panel of assistants featuring: Jeremy Dickson, Paul Jepson, Michael O’Shaughnessy and Greg Healy.
49 players have been selected in Hutch’s squad, with Premier Men’s, Premier B, Premier C and Division 1 Men’s all featuring.
Speaking to VAFA Media, Hutchison was very pleased with the overall make up of the squad, “from the list of available players, and nominations that we (the selection committee) received and took on board, we feel we have a very even squad, right across the grades.”
Reigning Premiers St Kevin’s the most prominently featured with 10 players selected in the squad.
Big V 2019 captain Josh Freezer (Old Melburnians) has been selected. 2022 GT Moore Medallist (Premier B best and fairest) Jak Nardino (Beaumaris) has been rewarded with selection.
