The VAFA is delighted to announce the appointment of experienced football broadcaster Jason Bennett to the position of VAFA Broadcast and Content Manager.
Jason has over three decades of experience across a broad range of formats from sports, corporate marketing, and broadcast.
VAFA CEO Jason Reddick commented, “The appointment of Jason Bennett to the Broadcast and Content Manager role represents a major coup for the VAFA. Jason is a quality person who lives the VAFA values, and we are excited that the broader VAFA community will reap the benefits from his many years of experience in the industry, together with his passion for community sport.”
Bennett said following his appointment, “Having spent more than thirty years involved in various roles at AFL, VFL, AFLW & local level, I’m excited by the opportunity to join Australia’s largest community football competition. I’ve always had a passion for grass roots footy and great respect for everyone involved.
“The VAFA is all about the love of the game, your club & your mates. As a keen storyteller, I can’t wait to start diving into the stories of the VAFA – there are so many to share.
“I’m also looking forward to building and developing a new broadcast team to deliver live action to the VAFA’s many loyal fans every weekend.”
Jason’s main responsibilities will be managing all aspects of VAFA match broadcasts, podcasts, written content and match filming.
Jason will manage his sports broadcasting commitments with the Seven Network throughout the VAFA season. He joins Cameron Voss (Media Manager), Susan Miller (Marketing and Events Manager) and Glen Towers (Chief Commercial Officer) in the VAFA’s Commercial and Media department.
Jason commenced his new role at the VAFA on Tuesday 2 April 2024.
We look forward to welcoming Jason to the team and his contribution to the VAFA.
