The Tackle Your Feelings (TYF) program has kicked off for 2024 and the VAFA’s TYF themed round is scheduled for the weekend of April 19-21.
This year, the VAFA has already coordinated TYF sessions for Old Ivanhoe and Old Peninsula. A further 11 VAFA clubs have scheduled a session for their club in the upcoming months. It’s great to see VAFA clubs get on the front foot in bringing awareness to mental health issues and schedule a TYF session to provide extra support to their players, coaches and club volunteers.
This year, Tackle Your Feelings workshops are focused towards players and coaches along with club volunteers. The program was formed by the AFL Coaches Association, AFL Players’ Association and Zurich Insurance in 2018. The program is based on the education delivered to the AFL industry, and is led by high profile player and coach ambassadors.
It’s a FREE mental health workshop for VAFA clubs who can also use this opportunity to build a strong and safe culture within their club. If your club has a strong value of supporting players’ mental health and values the player welfare space please consider a Tackle Your Feelings workshop in 2024.
To express your interest in a workshop please complete this form or reach out to VAFA Club Support Coordinator, Pranav Menon at [email protected]
