VAFA Club Connect Club of the Month – May

By Susan Miller · June 5, 2024
VAFA Club Connect Club of the Month – May

The Whitefriars Football Club have been awarded the VAFA Club Connect Club of the Month for May.

The VAFA Club Connect Club of the Month award recognises a VAFA club who through its actions both on and off the field, best exhibits the values of the VAFA, namely Respect, Inclusive, Integrity and Community.

The clubs nominated by VAFA Management in May were:

Whitefriars Football Club – Outside the confines of the football field, the dedication of Whitefriars Football Club volunteers has been incredible. Congratulations to Whitefriars FC for achieving a top 10 position and securing five $200 vouchers in AFL Victoria’s 10K Incentive Program for volunteer registrations on Play HQ. Additionally, VAFA commends the club’s participation in the Toyota Good for Footy Raffle, consistently placing them in the top 10 nationwide. To date, the club has raised an impressive $4940, ensuring a prosperous future. Their commitment to excellence, teamwork, and dedication off the field is commendable. VAFA encourages them to continue their outstanding work, as every volunteer’s contribution is invaluable to the club’s advancement.

Chadstone Football Club – What an impressive feat for Chadstone FC! Kudos to the club for its expansion in 2024, adding an extra team. Previously fielding only one team in the thirds, this year marks a significant advancement as the club now boasts two teams in Divisional football: men’s seniors and reserves. Just weeks ago, Chadstone FC clinched their inaugural victory in divisional football. These milestones reflect the club’s unwavering dedication, hard work, and passion beyond the field. VAFA extends its best wishes to the club, encouraging them to continue pushing boundaries, pursuing milestones, and cherishing each step of their remarkable journey.

Caulfield Grammarians Football Club – Well done to Caulfield FC for their successful performances across men, women, and U19s on the field. The VAFA management commends the club for embodying true sportsmanship and respect, both on and off the field, demonstrated by players and volunteers alike. Despite facing challenges in past seasons, the club has risen admirably, fostering a culture centred on integrity and sportsmanship. Their exemplary conduct serves as a beacon for players of all ages in the VAFA. Not only have they excelled in their own matches, but they are also fostering a culture of respect, teamwork, and fair play among teammates and opponents. Let’s celebrate the club’s efforts and the positive influence they exert every weekend. VAFA management extends best wishes to the club and encourages them to continue setting an example within the VAFA community.

As recognition of their award, the Whitefriars Football Club receive a $150 credit courtesy of Club Connect to restock their canteen/drinks fridge.

When told about the award, Club President Peter Ciardulli said “We are delighted to get this recognition. It is great acknowledgment for all our coaches, players, committee, and volunteers. We strive to be a great community club in a very competitive market, and I am thrilled that this has been recognised.”

If you believe your club demonstrates the Values of the VAFA and would like to share the great work happening at your club, please email VAFA Club Support Coordinator, Pranav Menon ([email protected])
