The VAFA congratulates Josh Docking from Hampton Rovers, who has received the Anytime Fitness Rising Star nomination for Round 8. Josh had a standout performance on the weekend, booting 3 goals.
What the club said:
Josh Docking has been a Hampton Rovers player since beginning his footy journey in Auskick at Boss James Reserve. He came through the club’s expansive junior program, while before representing the Sandringham Dragons in the AFL Talent League and Victoria Metro in the 2023 AFL National Championships. He missed the AFL Draft last year and was then signed by VFL Club Sandringham Zebras as one of their 2024 listed players.
He has been available for selection for the Rovers three times this season, playing well on all three occasions and kicking six goals in the past two matches. He is a very lively, quick and skilful player who adds to the side with great energy.
Josh is a very relaxed and quietly confident character with a great balance in life – currently studying at university. A Hampton Rovers person through and through, a great talent and wonderful family. The club congratulates him on his worthy Rising Star nomination as he continues to develop as a footballer.
