2024 Division 2 Men’s Team of the Year
Division 2 Men’s was, without question, one of the most interesting sections in all of the VAFA throughout 2024. Brunswick set the early pace, winning 14 of their first 15,
Two of William Buck Premier Men’s fiercest rivals headline our SEN live coverage this week, while an early premiership contender faces another challenge on Kommunity TV. Find out how to catch the action live.
This week’s SEN VAFA Match of the Day sees Old Xaverians host Old Scotch at Toorak Park.
Old Xavs are riding a wave of momentum generated by 3 straight wins. This week they take on one of the most enigmatic teams in the competition – Old Scotch – whose best footy has been irresistible, but it has generally come against the lower sides. Can they turn one on against a fellow finals contender & leapfrog them on the ladder?
A spot in the Top 4 might be up for grabs for the winner and it’s always on for young & old when these two clubs collide.
Tune into our LIVE coverage from 1:45pm through the SEN App, SEN.com.au and VAFA.com.au, hosted by VAFA Media’s Paddy Grindlay and featuring interviews with the coaches, special guests and more.
The SEN App is available for iPhone and Android, and works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
This weeks KommunityTV live-stream double-header takes us to TH King Oval as St Kevin’s host University Blacks.
SKOB have been the Houdini of the competition in recent weeks, with three consecutive nail-biting wins (including their last two by just 2 points apiece). Last season’s runners-up became the first team to knock over Old Brighton in Round 8 and coach Anthony Lynch has been delighted by their ability to hang in games and find ways to win.
Their opponent this week has been a regular heart-stopper themselves, with 5 of Blacks’ 8 games decided by 2 goals or less this season. Like SKOB, Dale Bower’s Blacks team have shown plenty of grit to go with their ability to stick around and keep things tight.
But the difference between the teams on the ladder comes from the fact that Blacks ultimately lost 4 of those 5 close ones. Is this the week they break through, claim a huge scalp and kickstart the second half of their season? They need wins to keep in touch with the Top 4, so expect them to leave nothing on the table against one of the early premiership favourites.
