The VAFA congratulates Isla Tucker from Hampton Rovers, who has received the Anytime Fitness Rising Star nomination for Round 14. At just 16, Isla has polled votes in every one of her five matches played for the Rovers and was involved in all twelve of Hampton’s scores in their win over Richmond Central on the weekend.
What the club said:
Isla has been playing football since she was four and has played over 125 junior games. She has also been a member of the Sandringham Dragons Futures team and has enjoyed the transition to senior footy at Rovers this year.
Isla enjoys the competitive spirit of football, friendships and developing as a player.
We recruited Isla to the women’s team after watching her play rep netball. Isla has fierce determination and amazing skill in both footy and netball. Isla’s ball winning ability and skill make her an exciting player to watch and coach.
Isla’s overhead marking is quite incredible for a small forward/mid under 16. We look forward to Isla moving into the full dragons squad and playing with the rovers women.
