The VAFA congratulates Yasmine Budic from La Trobe University FC, who has received the Anytime Fitness Rising Star nomination for Round 17. In her first year of Senior footy, Yasmine has played in every single match, earning best on accolades on 10 occasions. She has been important for the Trobers through their finals campaign thus far and will no doubt add to their line up in this weekend’s Grand Final.
What the club said:
Yas began her junior football journey in 2017 with the Murray Felines, and her talents quickly drew attention. From 2020 to 2022, she was selected to play for the Bushrangers, where she initially trained as a midfielder before making a seamless transition to the backline.
In 2024, Yas made the move to Melbourne to pursue her studies and joined LTUFC. She started the season in the midfield but was soon shifted to the forward line to assist with our transition football, leveraging her potent left foot to great effect. Known for her lightning pace and clean skills, Yas has quickly established herself as a formidable force on the field.
More than just an exceptional player, Yas is a wholesome and down-to-earth human being, whose presence has enriched our team dynamic. Her coachability and versatility have made her a joy to work with, allowing her to seamlessly contribute in all areas of the field. Yas has been instrumental in playing a crucial role in the growth and success of our team.
