The VAFA is thrilled to announce that, for the first time in League history, a Women’s Academy Series will be played to provide talented youngsters with the opportunity to feature
As the VAFA community looks forward to tomorrow’s William Buck Premier Men’s Grand Final clash between Old Brighton and Old Scotch, the spotlight extends to the umpires appointed to officiate the match.
The VAFA congratulates the following umpires selected for the big game:
Field: Daniel Silfo, Michael Gough and Tom O’Connor
Boundary: Matthew Gough, Xavier Hendy, Tom Morris and Zane White
Goal: Patrick Newson and Nicholas Toohey
Emergency: Jordan Gibson
The VAFA also congratulates field umpire Daniel Silfo who will equal Russell Davidson’s record for the most number of William Buck Premier Men’s Grand Finals umpired. Daniel will umpire his 7th Grand Final, a truly remarkable achievement for a dedicated and highly skilled umpire.
A Grand Final appointment is an honour for the umpires appointed and is a reward for their high performance throughout the 2024 season. Their decision making, fitness, positioning and training performance has been closely monitored to ensure they are ready for the Grand Final.
