Let’s shine some light on the season that was in Division 4 Women’s as we reveal who made the 2024 Team of the Year.
St Kevin’s Coach Mikayla Dohnt spearheads the side after leading her Saints to victory in the Division 4 Women’s Grand Final.
Three SKOB Saints have been named across the midfield/half forward line, including Charlotte Lupson, Lauren Barnes, and Jessica Mounas.
St Mary’s Salesian’s Holly Wilson has been named as ruck, while Talia Nash and Clara Samms from the South Melbourne Districts join her in the centre.
It would be remiss not to acknowledge the stellar season of four-time VAFA Best & Fairest Johannah Griffin who has been selected in the centre and named captain of the Div 4 Women’s Team of the Year. She is joined by Albert Park teammates Jess Newitt and Meaghan Donaldson.
MCC FC put together a well-rounded season as a club that saw them all the way through to the Grand Final. With talent across the board, they have four of many possible representatives selected in the squad. Isabella Jeffrey at fullback, and Alexandra Stranger, Jade Wulkan, and Hollie Brodribb all up forward.
West Brunswick’s Ophelia Davenport has earned a spot, while Caitlin Scaife from the Old Yarra Cobras has been selected in the back pocket. Sharpshooter Ruby-Rose Haywood is representing North Brunswick in the forward pocket after booting 20 goals this season.
Kew, Canterbury and Elsternwick each have two players rounding out the 2024 Division 4 Women’s Team of the Year.
The VAFA Team of the Year’s are based on feedback and analysis from coaches, VAFA Media and umpires.
