VAFA and Anytime Fitness to continue celebrating our Rising Stars

By VAFA Media · March 26, 2025
VAFA and Anytime Fitness to continue celebrating our Rising Stars

The VAFA is delighted to announce a partnership extension with Australia’s largest health and fitness network Anytime Fitness, who will continue to present the Anytime Fitness Rising Star Men’s and Women’s awards throughout season 2025.

“Anytime Fitness and the VAFA have been partners for more than a decade, with both organisations jointly focused on supporting the health and wellbeing of young men and women,” said VAFA Chief Executive Officer, Jason Reddick.

“Anytime Fitness has become synonymous with our VAFA Rising Star Award, which continues to grow in stature each year. Last season’s men’s winner, Old Brighton’s Joey Campigli, now finds himself on a VFL list with Sandringham and we couldn’t be happier for him.

“Our women’s winner, Charlie Anderson from Caulfield Grammarians, had to overcome a significant back injury that wiped out most of her 2023 season, then returned to the field last season and, as Caulfield’s first-ever father-daughter combination, was a wonderful VAFA story that was widely celebrated.

“The industry-wide recognition that comes with winning the Anytime Fitness Rising Star Award helps our brightest young VAFA prospects chase their footballing dreams, and we sincerely thank Simon Olive and the team at Anytime Fitness for their continued support.”

Anytime Fitness National Marketing Manager, Billie Hutchison said, “We’re excited to extend the partnership between the VAFA and Anytime Fitness in Victoria. We share a strong commitment to community and a healthy, active lifestyle and we are thrilled to continue our support of the league in 2025.”

About the Anytime Fitness Rising Star Award:

The VAFA recognises the talented young players in the competition by awarding the Anytime Fitness Rising Star Award. Each week, the Rising Star Committee nominates one male and one female player based on outstanding performance.

Our weekly winners become eligible to be selected as the overall VAFA Anytime Fitness Rising Stars of the year.

The criteria for the Award have been slightly amended to provide greater simplicity and clarity as follows:

  • Eligible players must be 20 years of age or under by October 31 of the current season.
  • Eligible players must have played no more than 7 senior matches prior to the current season.

About Anytime Fitness:

Anytime Fitness is celebrating their 17th year in Australia, offering members 24/7 access to any of their 575 gyms across the country. As Australia’s largest gym network, whether you’re a gym junkie or you just bought your first pair of runners in 10 years, you can find your fit at Anytime Fitness.
