The VAFA congratulates Noah Yze from Old Melburnians Football Club who has been nominated as the Round 2 Anytime Fitness Men’s Rising Star. Noah starred in his first appearance with the OM’s, proving an asset to the side with lightning speed and marking strength, and finishing with an impressive 5-goal haul from 20 disposals.
What the club said:
Coach Nathan Brown said “Noah’s play his first game in his first year with Old Melburnians Football Club last Saturday in Round 2. Last year he was finishing school and playing Coates League at Chargers, as well as a bit with Casey VFL. Noah has a busy schedule with his teams’ clubs training so we are lucky to have him with us as his local club. He is a quality lad from quality family. Our families connection has run for all of our kids lives and for me personally, I finally got to coach the young gun.
Noah has great athletic ability (tank/speed combo gold) and he’s as strong as an Ox, tied in with his beautiful all round skills. He’s got a really bright future and has already shone in the early VFL rounds.
He can play anywhere/any line on the ground as he did last week – his dad was able to get to training last week to see him bounce around with his OM’s team mates and he followed the game while at Gather Round but it was really special his Mum was able to be at our game to see him shine in really quality VAFA footy.”
Old Melburnian’s President, David Elam added “that it is a privilege to have such a quality young person in Noah as part our OMFC Community and playing in the VAFA competition. OMFC and VAFA provide a pathway for Noah who is trying to live the dream as young players do. We need to be that pathway and enjoy the journey.”
