The Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) proudly announces CitiPower as the Presenting Partner of the 2025 Big V Gala Dinner, to be held at Centrepiece at Melbourne Park on Thursday, 10 July 2025.
The event will mark a momentous occasion — 100 years of Big V representative football — honouring the players, coaches, and volunteers who have proudly represented the iconic Big V jumper across a century of elite amateur competition.
VAFA CEO Jason Reddick said the partnership with CitiPower reinforces the organisation’s commitment to celebrating its history and acknowledging the importance placed on Big V representative football.
“We are delighted to have CitiPower as the Presenting Partner of the largest function in the history of the VAFA,” said Reddick.
“CitiPower plays a crucial role in powering our VAFA clubs, which are spread throughout metropolitan Melbourne.
“They have an excellent reputation for supporting grassroots community sports, and we take great pride in the fact that our VAFA Big V Centenary events will mark CitiPower’s inaugural partnership with an Australian rules football league.
“Plus, there’s great synergy in 2025 also being CitiPower’s Centenary year.”
The 2025 Gala Dinner will bring together generations of VAFA representative players, supporters, and stakeholders to celebrate the Big V’s lasting contribution to the Victorian sporting landscape and proud legacy, which began at the MCG when the VAFA hosted the SAAFL in 1925.
A special one-off Big V Centenary logo has been created to feature on this year’s Big V jumpers and all Centenary materials.
“As befitting the occasion, our Centenary logo will instantly make this year’s jumpers that little bit more special,” said Reddick.
“The 2025 Big V jumper – which will be worn by all four of our teams across Big V Weekend in July – will stand out even more than the traditional Big V, which, in my unashamedly biased opinion, sits alone as the greatest rep jumper in footy.
“Players fortunate enough to be selected to pull on the Big V in 2025 will receive a limited-edition collectible to cherish forever more as a reminder of their achievement in being selected in such a special year.”
“CitiPower is delighted to partner with the Victorian Amateur Football Association,” said CitiPower Chief Executive Officer Tim Rourke.
“For a century, both organisations have been an integral part of the grassroots Melbourne communities they have each served with great pride. We share the same values of inclusion, integrity, accountability, and well-being.
“CitiPower is proud to support the Gala Dinner, a vibrant celebration of community spirit, teamwork and the passion that unites local clubs and brings people together.”
Tickets for the 2025 Big V Gala presented by CitiPower are on sale now.
