The 2025 VAFA’s Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) Round took place during the weekend of May 9–11, aligning with Mother’s Day on May 11. Many clubs also showed their support the following weekend (May 16–18), helping to raise even more awareness and recognition for the campaign.
Mother’s Day holds special significance across the VAFA community as we pause to acknowledge and thank the women who play such vital roles in our clubs as players, coaches, volunteers, supporters, and family. This year, clubs combined the celebration of Mother’s Day with the powerful message of the BCNA, helping to raise awareness and funds for Australians impacted by breast cancer.
Many clubs showed their support in fun and meaningful ways. This included Pink Lady Lunches, raffles, auctions, tin rattling, pink footballs, and wearing pink boots or jumpers. The effort and spirit from the VAFA community were truly inspiring.
A big thank you to the clubs that went above and beyond to support this year’s BCNA Round: Caulfield Grammarians FC, Prahran FC, St Bernard’s FC, St Mary’s Salesian, Oakleigh AFC, Whitefriars FC, Old Scotch, De La Salle, and Hampton Rovers. Your efforts made a real difference. We also want to thank the clubs planning to run BCNA events this weekend. Your support means a lot and is truly appreciated.
Funds raised during the round will help BCNA continue its essential work supporting individuals and families affected by breast cancer.
Together, we honour, support, and make a difference.
