VAFA Finals Weekend Wrap

It was a huge weekend of VAFA finals action across Melbourne. Here’s a look at some of the social media highlights.

At Box Hill City Oval, Old Peninsula won their first ever senior premiership, as they inflicted Ormond’s first loss of 2025. Former AFL star Nathan Jones starred with six goals as they ran out 74-point winners in the Division 1 Men’s decider.

St Mary’s Salesian defeated Old Yarra Cobras in a thrilled, holding on to win the Division 2 Men’s flag by three points. Nick Dekas booted a huge goal for the Saints.

On Saturday night at Elsternwick Park it was an overtime thriller in Holmesglen Under 19 Premier. After a Uni Blues kicked a goal after the siren to level things up, St Kevin’s finished strong to win by eight points to send them into the Grand Final.

In William Buck Premier Men’s, Old Brighton defeated Old Xaverians to qualify first for the Grand Final to be held on AFL GF-Eve at Elsternwick Park.

While at Trevor Barker Beach Oval, Old Scotch continued their hot form, downing St Kevin’s to progress to the preliminary final where they’ll face Old Xavs on Saturday at Elsternwick Park.

In William Buck Premier Women’s, minor-premiers Caulfield Grammarians came from behind with a 14-0 final term to defeat St Kevin’s by 6 points and progress to the Grand Final where they’ll face Old Scotch Sunday at Elsternwick Park.
