The VAFA is delighted to announce the umpiring panel that will officiate in the 2025 William Buck Premier Men’s Grand Final, being held on Friday September 26 at Elsternwick Park between Old Brighton and Old Scotch at 2:30pm.
The VAFA congratulates the following umpires on their appointments:
Field: Jordan Gibson, Patrick Sexton and Daniel Silfo Boundary: Xavier Hendy, Lucas Kennedy, Nick Obst and Zane White Goal: Daniel O’Shea and Nicholas Toohey
Daniel Silfo will break the record for the greatest number of William Buck Premier Men’s Grand Finals umpired by a field umpire. Daniel will umpire his 8th Grand Final, following his selection in 2011, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024. The entire VAFA community congratulates Daniel for this significant accomplishment and wish him well for the game.
All of the Grand Final umpires appointed have performed exceptionally well during the home and away season and finals campaign. Their hard work to get to the final game of the season started in February during a gruelling pre-season fitness program. During the season, the umpires have been assessed on rules knowledge, decision making, positioning and overall performance.
Congratulations again to all appointed umpires, enjoy the experience and run well on Friday!
