The VAFA congratulates former President Andrew Langford-Jones on receiving an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for his services to community football and golf in the 2026 Australia Day Honours list.
Andrew played in Haileybury’s first APS school football and cricket premierships in the 1960s, then went on to play more than 200 games with Old Haileybury, and coached the club’s senior team from 1983-85.
He spent more than 20 years serving footy as a committee member, culminating with a 3-year tenure as VAFA President from 1998-2000, after 3 seasons as Vice President.
Andrew received Life Membership of the VAFA in 2001, before embarking on a long and successful golf career as Director of Tournaments for the PGA of Australia.
On behalf of the entire VAFA community, we congratulate Andrew and thank his family for their support of his remarkable commitment to our competition.
