VAFA Media Live Coverage – Saturday, August 15
The race for September is heating up, and we’ve got more high-stakes action for you to enjoy on VAFA Media: It kicks off bright & early from 9.15am Saturday, with
The Holmesglen Under 19 Premier Men’s competition provided some thrilling footy in 2025, with so much exciting young talent on display putting on an incredible finals series that elevated the section to new heights.
St Kevin’s (15-3) claimed the minor premiership by percentage over Old Brighton, with Old Scotch and University Blues rounding out the Final 4.
The Blues then made a September surge, eliminating Old Scotch in the First Semi Final, before pushing SKOB all the way into extra time in a thrilling Saturday night Preliminary Final at Elsternwick Park.
St Kevin’s ultimately prevailed to earn another shot at Old Brighton in the Grand Final, but the Tonners repeated their Second Semi success to claim back-to-back flags by 18 points.

All the 2025 Under 19 Premier teams remain in the top flight in 2026, along with two new additions to the section, making for what promises to be a high-quality 10-team competition.
The Top 2 teams from Under 19 Division 1 last season – Parkdale Vultures and Beaumaris – have been promoted to the top-flight after the Vultures defeated the Sharks by 46 points on Grand Final Day.
These two teams will meet first up in a Grand Final rematch in Round 1 at Moorabbin West, while last year’s Under 19 Premier Grand Finalists will also run it back in the opening round as SKOB visit the Tonners at Brighton Beach Oval.
The fixture features two byes – the first being King’s Birthday weekend on Saturday June 6, then the second is the Big V Weekend bye as the VAFA’s Under 19 representative team hosts the Goulburn Valley League at Elsternwick Park on Saturday July 11.
Positions in this Big V line-up will once again be hotly contested, with coaches and selectors keeping a keen eye on the early rounds.
The final round of the home & away season will take place on Saturday, August 29, and will be directly followed by a three-week Finals Series kicking off on the weekend of September 5-6, with all finals (including the Grand Final) to once again be showcased as Twilight matches.
The following fixture is subject to change. Refer to the fixtures page for any changes.
