The Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) acknowledges the decision of the Box Hill North Football Club to enter a period of recess for the 2026 season.
This is a disappointing outcome for all involved in community football, particularly for the players, volunteers, members and supporters who have contributed to the Club’s proud history over many years.
The VAFA has worked closely with the Club in recent months to explore all possible avenues to support its ongoing participation in Division 3. Despite these collective efforts, the Club has determined that entering recess is the most appropriate course of action at this time.
The VAFA remains committed to supporting Box Hill North Football Club through this period, with a focus on ensuring a sustainable pathway for a future return to competition.
We thank all those who have contributed to the Club and the broader football community, and we remain confident of seeing Box Hill North back on the field in the near future.
The Division 3 Men’s competition will continue as per the existing fixture through to the end of May, with a bye to replace games scheduled against Box Hill North.
Beyond May, a restructured fixture will be produced to deliver an 18 round season, with 14-15 games per team and a match ratio policy in place.
