BIG V REP TRAINING KICKS OFF
The VAFA Senior Big V Women’s and Men’s squads hit the training track together for the first time last night at Elsternwick Park. The session marked an important early step in preparations for the upcoming representative campaign against the Adelaide Footy League on June 6.
The teams met their 2026 coaches and teammates, and had a light training session to get the rep season started before final teams are announced soon.


FAMILY MILESTONE FOR KITTS BROTHERS
On the weekend, Oakleigh brothers Deacon and Rogan Kitts played their first senior game together. As kids the brothers would wear their club jumpers and support both their dad and uncle in the seniors, but that weekend it was their turn to put on the seniors jumper and play together.
Their father Ashley Kitts played 277 games for Oakleigh amateur, while their uncle Shane Kitts played over 200 games for Oakleigh amateur, which included some premierships.

PLAYER MILESTONES IN ROUND 4
Congratulations to the following VAFA players who will reach special milestones this week in Round 5.
Ormond’s Tim Oaten will reach 100 games after joining the club in 2019, following in his family’s footsteps as his father Michael and brothers Matt and Nick also played for Ormond.
Wil Riley from St Bernard’s will also mark his 100th VAFA game for the club, having come through as a St Bernard’s Junior, then Under 19s player before making his senior debut in 2023.

KEW HOST ANNUAL CHARITY ROUND THIS WEEKEND
Kew will host their annual Danny Delbridge Memorial Charity Day Luncheon on Saturday, this year in support of Our Watch, preventing violence against women. A luncheon will be held in the clubroom from 12-3pm with Ben Brown, AFL Premiership Player and Our Watch Ambassador as the guest speaker. There will also be a balloon raffle with all proceeds going towards the charity. The men’s and women’s senior teams are set to wear specially designed jumpers this weekend, and will be auctioned off post-match with all proceeds going towards Our Watch.
MELBOURNE HIGH SCHOOL HOLD ANNUAL DOMESTIC AND FAMILY VIOLENCE LUNCHEON
MHSOBFC are also hosting their Annual Domestic & Family Violence Prevention Round and luncheon on Saturday. Writer and activist Tarang Chawla (MHS 2004) will be the keynote speaker. Chawla is the co-founder of Not One More Niki, a grassroots non-profit working to end men’s violence against women named in memory of his younger sister Nikita who was murdered by her partner in 2015.
