The VAFA congratulates Bella Koster from Beaumaris Football Club, who has been nominated as the Round 6 VAFA Women’s Rising Star.
Bella has made an impressive start to 2026, being named in the best players for Beaumaris in 4/6 games this season!
What the club said:
Bella Koster’s footballing journey began at Mentone Grammar in 2022, where she first discovered her love for the game. That passion quickly grew, leading her to join the Beaumaris Football Club for the 2023 season in the U16s before progressing into the U18 program in 2024.
In 2025, Bella earned her first taste of Senior football while also balancing commitments with the Sandringham Dragons.
Bella spent the summer training with the Sandringham Zebras VFLW program which underlines her commitment for self-improvement. After a delisting from the Zebras, Bella responded the only way she knows how – by doubling down on her development and throwing herself wholeheartedly into her football at Beaumaris.
Bella says her love for footy primarily stems from the friendships she has built and the strong culture within the squad. She thrives on the physicality and fast-paced intensity of the game and appreciates that no two matches are ever the same. Every week presents a new opportunity to learn and improve and that’s just the way she like it!
Bella is consistently the first to arrive at training, often spending 30 minutes refining her kicking before the rest of the squad even hits the track. Her dedication is reflected in her game – a penetrating left foot, elite work rate, and a fierce appetite for the contest epitomises her approach to the game.
Testament to this dedication and resilience, Bella has just received a development contract with the Casey Demons in the VFLW. All her team mates at Beaumaris are thrilled for her and the acknowledgement at the VAFA’s Round 6 Rising Star nominee.
