For the first time in the competition’s history, all matches in William Buck Premier Women’s this weekend will be streamed live on VAFA.com.au as the VAFA launches Premier Women’s Showcase Round. See the full schedule below.
Thanks to the support of VAFA’s broadcast production partner My Sport Live, Showcase Round represents a significant step towards VAFA Media’s goal of delivering more live footy to its legion of fans.
“Our goal is to continue growing exposure and accessibility to what is widely regarded as one of the strongest women’s amateur competitions in Australia,” said VAFA Broadcast & Content Manager, Jason Bennett.
“A cornerstone of that strategy is to have more VAFA Women’s matches live and free on VAFA TV, and we’re so grateful to our partner, My Sport Live, for their support of Showcase Round. CEO Kristie Middleton has been a passionate advocate for women’s footy, and we are delighted to be partnering with them to deliver every Premier Women’s match live this weekend.”
“Fans want to be connected to their team, but everyone’s life is getting busier, so being able to get to games isn’t always an option,” said Middleton.
“Live streams have become a regular habit for so many sports fans. We deliver them across multiple sports and leagues every weekend, helping teams connect with their community, which is critical for growing teams and competitions.
“This is a great next step for growing William Buck Premier Women’s, and I’m looking forward to tuning in to the Megawall on VAFA.com.au this weekend!”
Showcase Round will kick off with Old Geelong hosting West Brunswick at Como Park from 10.25am.
That clash will be followed by two matches in the 1.55pm slot:-
Then we wrap it up with some Saturday night footy, as Kew hosts Old Brighton from 4.35pm.
“It’s one of VAFA Media’s biggest weekends of the entire season, as we’ll have nine live matches for you to enjoy, given we’re also broadcasting four Premier Men’s matches, and the Holmesglen Under 19 Premier Match of the Round as well,” said Bennett.
