The VAFA is pleased to announce the return of the 2026 TAC Themed Round and TAC Club Rewards Program, continuing a long-standing partnership between the Transport Accident Commission and AFL Victoria aimed at promoting safer roads across the community football landscape.
For 34 years, the TAC and AFL Victoria have worked together to empower grassroots football clubs to build a strong culture of road safety, encouraging players, members, volunteers, and supporters to think about their decisions before getting behind the wheel.
The TAC Club Rewards Program gives all AFL Victoria affiliated clubs the opportunity to actively support the mission of making Victorian roads safer, while also accessing valuable funding for their club. By promoting key road safety messages within their football community, clubs can earn up to $10,000 in rewards through creative campaigns, education initiatives, and club engagement activities.
In 2025, 39 VAFA clubs participated in the program, bringing more than $75,200 back into clubland. Across June and July, clubs showed a strong and consistent focus on the campaign, producing creative video content across Facebook, Instagram and TikTok to promote TAC messages. Players and volunteers were also actively involved, helping drive the program at a grassroots level. Importantly, clubs had a clear purpose for the funding, with proceeds supporting initiatives such as new electronic scoreboards, jumpers, footballs, best and fairest celebrations, and more.
In 2026, the campaign focus will centre around tackling speeding drivers, helping raise awareness of the dangers associated with speeding and encouraging safer behaviours both on and off the field.
The program continues to provide clubs with an excellent opportunity to not only create positive cultural change within their communities but also generate additional funding that can support club initiatives, equipment, facilities, and volunteer programs.
The VAFA strongly encourages all clubs to get involved in this year’s TAC Club Rewards Program and take advantage of the resources and support available through the initiative.
