Round 10 VAFA Women’s Rising Star: Izabela Ignjic

The VAFA congratulates Izabela Ignjic from Ormond AFC, who has been nominated as the Round 10 VAFA Women’s Rising Star.

Izabela has played five senior games this season in Ormond’s Division 1 Women’s side, kicking six goals and being named in the best players in three of those five matches.

What the club said:

Izabela played her junior football with Prahran JFC before joining Ormond in 2026. She is also part of the Sandringham Dragons squad and continues to push herself to see how far she can take her game.

Izabela came to us this year through mutual former Dragons and Ormond player Lily Skinner. Since arriving, she has quickly established herself as an integral player, spending time across half-forward and through the midfield. Her enthusiasm and love for the game shine through in her mercurial skills and creativity. She has been a pleasure to coach, and it feels like we’ve only scratched the surface of her potential and what she is capable of achieving.
