VAFA announces Big V umpires for GVL double-header

The VAFA is pleased to announce the umpiring appointments for this Saturday’s Big V representative matches against the Goulburn Valley League at Revo Fitness Park, Elsternwick Park.

These appointments recognise the outstanding performances and commitment shown by our umpires throughout the 2026 season.

Selection for the representative stage is a significant achievement in a VAFA umpire’s career. The appointed umpires were acknowledged in front of the entire umpiring group after Wednesday night training, allowing for the umpires to be recognised by their peers and share in each other’s success.

Field Umpire Patrick Mathews was honoured to receive this representative appointment.

“I’m excited for the challenge and to see how the VAFA matches up against some of the best country footballers in Victoria,” said Mathews.

“It will also be a great opportunity to work with the Goulburn Valley League umpires, share our experience and learn from each other.”
