The VAFA congratulates Sienna Briscoe from Old Brighton, who has been nominated as the Round 13 VAFA Women’s Rising Star.
Sienna was the highest-ranked Old Brighton player in their William Buck Premier Women’s clash against Caulfield Grammarians on the weekend. She collected 15 disposals and laid eight tackles.
What the club said:
Sienna joined Old Brighton this season, making the exciting transition into senior football after completing her junior career with the East Brighton Vampires. Despite being new to the program, she has settled seamlessly into life as a Tonner and quickly become a much-loved member of our playing group.
Sienna is an outstanding teammate whose positive attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn have earned the respect of her coaches and peers. Her impact extends well beyond game day, and this nomination is recognition of both her impressive performances on the field and the person she is off it. We are incredibly proud to see her efforts recognised at a VAFA level.
Coaches quote:
Sienna, or ‘Bristle’ as she’s known around the club, has become a critical part of our midfield and forward rotation. Her vision is elite and her execution with the ball is phenomenal. Week after week, we’re blown away by how quickly she’s become such an important part of our game plan.
What makes Sienna special is her ability to keep her hands clean in high-pressure situations and uncover opportunities that others don’t see. She has a knack for creating something out of nothing, and her football IQ allows her to influence games in really important moments. She’s made us a better team from the moment she arrived, and this recognition is thoroughly deserved.
