The VAFA congratulates Megan Orr from Fitzroy, who has been nominated as the Round 14 VAFA Women’s Rising Star.
Megan was named Fitzroy’s best player in their William Buck Premier Women’s win over Westbourne.
What the club said:
Meg has played all her football at Fitzroy from Auskick up to the seniors. She has been training on and off with the seniors group from under 16s and played her first senior game last year in the reserves against Kew.
Meg has made a seamless transition from our junior program into the senior side and hasn’t missed a beat, taking on an important role across half-back. She has great football smarts, reads the ball exceptionally well as an interceptor, and her kicking is one of her biggest strengths.
Meg is always looking to improve and has grown every time she’s stepped out on the field this year. Coming through our junior pathway and making such an impact at senior level is a fantastic example of the strength of our club’s development program. She is clearly a future star of our club, and we’re excited to watch her continue to grow and develop in the years ahead.
