The VAFA congratulates Ivy Compton from Old Haileybury, who has been nominated as the Round 15 VAFA Women’s Rising Star.
Ivy has played 14 senior games for Old Haileybury this season and has been named among the best players on 11 occasions.
What the club said:
Ivy Compton joined Old Haileybury in 2026 as part of a group of talented girls from St Peter’s Junior Football Club, and she has quickly established herself as an integral member of the Hearts’ backline.
Having previously filled in for Old Haileybury on seven occasions as a junior over the past two years, it has been fantastic to welcome Ivy to the club as a full-time player in 2026. Her contribution has been significant, and she has played an important role in the Hearts’ success this season.
Despite her young age, Ivy plays with a maturity and composure well beyond her years. She has become a rock in defence, consistently thwarting opposition attacks with her ability to read the play, take strong intercept marks and deliver the ball with precision from the backline.
We are incredibly proud of Ivy and look forward to watching her continue to develop and establish herself as an important part of the Hearts for many years to come. Congratulations, Ivy!
