The VAFA congratulates Daniel Gilham from St Bernard’s, who has been nominated as the Round 16 VAFA Men’s Rising Star.
Daniel has played all 16 games for the Snowdogs in William Buck Premier Men’s this season, kicking 19 goals. He played a key role in the win over ladder leaders Uni Blues on the weekend, kicking two crucial goals in the third quarter.
What the club said:
Daniel Gilham is a proud St Bernard’s junior who has worked his way through the club’s pathway, developing his game from the junior ranks through to senior football. A fantastic young man, he brings plenty of energy and enthusiasm to the group, is eager to learn and is quickly becoming a valued member of the senior playing group.
He has taken another step forward this season, playing every game so far and continuing to grow in confidence and consistency at senior level. His progression is a great example of the St Bernard’s pathway and the club’s commitment to developing young players all the way from the junior ranks through to senior football, giving them the opportunity to thrive at the highest level.
Coach Quote:
“Gilly has been working on his game week in and week out. The last month of footy has been his best and it’s great to see this recognition of his efforts with this Rising Star nomination. We are excited to continue to watch him develop.” — Steve Alessio, Senior Coach
