The 2026 William Buck VAFA Finals Luncheon will be held on Friday September 4 at the RACV City Club from 12.30pm.

Join the VAFA community to celebrate the VAFA and AFL Finals Series. In 2026, we’re raising the bar with two Brownlow Medallists taking the stage. Between them, James Hird and Jimmy Bartel boast five AFL premierships and a wealth of unforgettable finals experiences. They’ll share insights, behind-the-scenes stories and their thoughts on the upcoming AFL Finals series, making this an event no football fan will want to miss.

Plus Jason Bennett alongside VAFA media experts will preview all the 2026 VAFA Finals in a live episode of For the Love of the Game.

Tickets are $170 per head, including a two-course lunch and beverage package from 12.30 – 3.30pm.

UNBELIEVABLE UMPIRE MILESTONES

Congratulations to VAFAUA field umpire Brendan Corcoran on officiating an incredible 700 games! Umpiring since 1992, Brendan is known as dedicated, supportive and a real icon in the community that deserves to be celebrated.

Brendan would like to thank Oakleigh AFC and St Mary’s Salesian for their guard of honour last weekend and the support he got from everyone at the ground.

Another amazing milestone in the umpiring community on the weekend was Rob ‘Bobby’ Parry reaching 500 games as a goal umpire! Known for his dedication, accuracy and community spirit, Bobby is a VAFA umpiring icon.

THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT AT PARKDALE

An impressive eight Parkdale Vultures Under 19 Men’s players stepped up to the Senior Men’s side on the weekend and they looked right at home, beating Glen Eira in the Premier C Men’s competition by 116 points!

Beaumaris celebrated a monstrous milestone round last weekend, celebrating five players combining for 650 across the senior men’s and women’s! Congratulations to Byron Hughes (250), Lachie Tedde (150), Brodie Young (100), Connor Murphy (100) and Liv Stockdale (50) on their major milestone games.

Best wishes to Charlie Vague who is set to chalk up his 150th Senior game for St Bernard’s this weekend. Charlie was a member of the Premier B Men’s Premierships in 2018 and 2023, has represented the Big V U19 side and was named in the 2024 VAFA Team of the Year.
