ROUND 15 – RESULTS GO TO SCRIPT

By VAFA · August 2, 2008
ROUND 15 – RESULTS GO TO SCRIPT

But despite a few hairy moments, everything ended up going according to the script. Old Trinity showed a lot of pluck and stuck with St Bede’s/Mentone for most of the day but the home side skipped away in the dying minutes to win. Youngster Brett Collins kicked four key goals for the Tigers and Paul Groves was best afield.
At Sportscover Arena, Old Xavs turned on a clinic, seeing off Old Ivanhoe by almost ten goals. The win sent an ominous warning to the other finals contenders and pretty much ended Ivanhoe’s season. In other games, Brighton were very impressive in seeing off Uni Blues by seven goals, De La gave Old Scotch a bit of a fright but once again fell short against their bogey team and Collegians had no trouble at all in downing Uni Blacks, winning by eight goals.
In B Section, Marcellin suffered another shock loss, going down to Old Melburnians. The win might be enough for OMs to hang on once again, given that Caulfield Grammarians were rolled by Old Carey. In other results, Haileybury just fell in against Beaumaris and St Bernards and Old Essendon had thumping wins.
