Perth retain silverware despite desperate late Big V surge
The Perth Football League made history on Saturday as they posted back-to-back wins over the Big V for the first time after a thrilling struggle at Sportscover Arena, Elsternwick Park.
The VAFA has updated its U19 Over-Age Player Policy for the 2021 season.
Clubs will be permitted to select and play an unlimited number of U19 Over-Age players born between 1st January 2001 and 30th June 2001 inclusive in their Under 19 team(s) next season. Previously, clubs were only permitted to select and play a maximum of four (4) U19 Over-Age players per match.
Upon making this change, the VAFA wanted to ensure that all players born in 2001 are able to still experience a season of U19 football in the VAFA as their first and potentially only chance to do so this year was not possible due to the season being cancelled because of COVID-19.
The updated U19 Over-Age Player Policy can be found HERE.
The VAFA will review this policy at the conclusion of the 2021 season to determine its ongoing implementation.
Clubs are also reminded that players who are aged 19 years or under as at the 1st day of July in each year (being 1st July 2001 for next season) are still eligible to play U19 football as per normal.
