The most thrilling modern-day rivalry in Premier Men’s headlines a critical pre-bye Round 12. Here’s a preview. ST KEVIN’S vs OLD BRIGHTON (Saturday 2pm – TH King Oval) These two
Despite sitting on three wins each heading into the match, North Brunswick proved too strong for Masala this weekend as they ran out 86-point winners at Allard Park. Patrick Notaro and Thomas Falconer bagged five goals each for the Bulls, while James Logan and Nick Cunningham impressed for the Tigers.
Box Hill North made a swift return to eighth spot on the Division 4 ladder as they defeated Mt Lilydale by two points in a thriller at Elgar Park. Damon Earp top scored for the Demons with three goals in what was a fantastic all-round performance of eight goal kickers. Max Hampton and Stephen Donald stood tall for the Rams with three each, but they are still comfortably in the four with two more wins than fifth.
Eley Park Sharks came from nine points down at the first break and ran over Manningham Cobras by eight points at Koonung Reserve. It was a shared load with five players kicking two goals each for the Sharks, while the Cobras were similar with four. Jesiah McGarvie was BOG for his outstanding performance for the Sharks.
Westbourne Grammarians broke every record in 2016 as they piled on 49 goals for a total of 318 points, and defeated Chadstone by 316 at Westbourne School Ground. 2015 centurion, Dale Collins, starred up forward as he booted 17 goals in his most complete performance of the year. The haul puts him in front of the goal kicking leader board, with five more than Will Dawson in second. Unbelievably, there were just seven Warriors who didn’t register a goal. David Fernandez and Blake Stewart did their utmost for the Synners as their two best players.
